BIS Hallmarked Jewellery

What is BIS Hallmark?
BIS Hallmark is an official certification issued under standards established by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) indicating the purity of precious metal jewellery.

What is HUID and how do you verify it?
HUID (Hallmark Unique Identification) is a 6-character alphanumeric code marked on each hallmarked piece of gold jewellery, together with the BIS logo and the purity mark (for example 22K916 or 18K750). The code is linked to a record of the jeweller, the article and the purity tested.
To verify it, open the BIS Care app, choose Verify HUID, enter the code from your jewellery and compare the details with your invoice. Step-by-step help, in English and Hindi, is in our HUID guide. The official BIS website is bis.gov.in.
